		<description>My guess is that a main motivation is to help with user navigation via mobile phone, once Google has deeper penetration on mobile devices. Imagine you&#039;re trying to find a particular bar, and rather than just a bird&#039;s-eye view of the street layout, you can actually see the layout of the block from your own perspective.

(This, of course, combined with placing location-specific advertising, which brings in all kinds of locational-privacy issues...)</description>

		<description>I hadn&#039;t really been following the development of this Google app. Really why develop it? Its just more wasted bandwidth. Traffic cams, weather cams those kind of things are useful and the big G should be developing those kind of combined Google Maps-live image ideas.</description>
